I know I talk about almond blossom photos all year round, but they are finally here! If you’ve followed me on Instagram for a while you know that Central Valley Blossoms are one of my favorite parts of being a Fresno photographer. I love when spring is in the air and photos in the blossoms are the perfect way to capture that feeling. If you’ve booked a almond blossom photos session, then you’ve received my prep guide which will be able to answer pretty much any question. But I wanted to write down a few of my Almond Blossom Photos Session suggestions just to cover anything and everything in between.
1. Read through my prep guide!
Yes, this is so important I’ll mention it twice in this blog post. The prep guide is the best way to feel completely prepared for your almond blossom photos session.
2. If you’re struggling with clothing ideas, I love soft colors in the blossoms.
It feels very light and embraces those pastel spring colors. If you do want some contrast, wear something that’s bright and will pop against the white of the blossoms. Ivy City Co. is one of my favorite places to shop for dresses.
3. Layers are great!
Depending on the time of your session, it can be chilly as the sun sets so plan for your kids to wear a cardigan or bring one along for layering.
4. Choose your shoes wisely
Moms, when picking out shoes to go with your outfit, wear wedges or flats. The dirt is soft and sometimes muddy, heels tend to get stuck and really dirty.
5. Don’t wash your car.
Be aware that you’re driving out on dirt roads to get to my preferred almond orchard. So don’t wash your car right before your session.
6. Be well-rested
Try your best to make sure kids take their scheduled naps for the day and everyone is well-rested and relaxed. That includes you too!
7. Bring a toy for nervous kids
It’s not the end of the world to bring a favorite toy along if you have an anxious kid. It’s better to have a small toy in hand that we can edit out or hide than a really upset kid.
8. Book a full session
If you want to update the photos in your house and you want some single shots as well, book a full session. You’ll get more time in front of the camera and a bigger gallery to choose from.
9. Where do you want the photos to go?
Think about where you want your photos to go in your house and how you want to use them. It’ll make you really excited and will help push through any pre-photo session jitters or stress. New, beautiful pictures are so exciting!
10. A special trip afterwards…
I recommend a stop at Thrifty’s Ice Cream after a successful photography session. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them.
There are still a few spots available for a Almond Blossom Photos Session! Schedule a time for us to jump on the phone and talk about your session!
