2022 Trendy Fall Photo Accessories

Don’t shy away from adding accessories to your outfits. Adding a little something extra can really put your photos over the top by adding texture, movement, and a little personality. If you’re open to exploring a few accessories, here are a couple of trendy items that would be really easy to integrate into your fall family photo session outfits.

Knitted Blanket

If you have a baby in arms who you’re probably holding the entire session, bring a knitted blanket to wrap around them. The great thing about it is they’ll keep your baby warm during the session since it can get a little chilly in the fall and it will give your photos layering and texture.

There are a lot of boutiques that sell them or you might have one that a family member knitted when your baby was born but Amazon has a bunch for when you’re in a pinch.

Hat

Moms wearing hats has been trending for a minute but the look is still going strong and would elevate your outfit for your fall photos. The nice thing about a hat is that it’s neutral and can be added to whatever you were already planning on wearing. Target has a lot of cute options but here are a few from Amazon that I think would look great this fall.

Fringe Jacket

This is another item for moms that you can throw over a dress, skirt, jeans, or whatever you were already planning on wearing. I love the fringe jacket because it adds personality and movement to your photos without being distracting or over the top.

Statement Shoes

Leather sneakers or ankle boots for dads are definitely a trend I’ll support. I love this trend because normally dad wears the neutral outfit in the family and I love that this gives him a little somethin’ somethin’. It’s very simple and not distracting but just elevates the look.

One thing I love about adding accessories to fall photo outfits is that by elevating your outfit and maybe trying something new, you feel more confident and excited about your photos. This helps you feel more comfortable in front of the camera which results in more genuine smiles and interactions. This leads me to my final advice on clothing, pick something you love and that makes you happy, it will show in your photos.
