Fresno Family Photographer: 5 Mother’s Day Gifts Every Mother Will Love!

Mother’s day is just around the corner and I wanted to give you mamas a few ideas of things you can send your people to tell them what you’d like for mother’s day. First off let me tell you my mother’s day policy. I buy/create for myself what I want that will allow me to be a better mom and celebrates me being a mom. I tell my husband exactly what I want and/or I go buy what I want. This is usually: time to myself, not changing any diapers, not cooking dinner, pictures with my babies if they cooperate, snuggles with my kiddos, reading them some books, and some item that makes me happy. Once year I printed out engineering sized prints of my husband and I with our daughter and hung them in our bedroom. Another year I bought a personalized necklace. Be clear about your expectations and wants and if nobody is going to do it for you, do it for yourself. You deserve to be spoiled a little bit for all the hard work you do, whether that’s you spoiling yourself or a spouse or children, it doesn’t really matter.

So here are my 5 favorite things to ask for for Mother’s Day!

1. Spa day/pedicure

I love a good pedicure and upgrading to the “spa pedicure” makes it feel extra special. If you want to go big, getting a massage is always awesome. I was given a “european facial” for my birthday last year and it was absolutely amazing. So relaxing, so rejuvenating, I was on cloud 9 after!

2. Time alone

I frequently end up doing a day with my mom on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. We go to lunch and shopping or a movie and just generally hang out for the day without children. Someday I want a night in a hotel alone. ALL BY MYSELF!!! I will get take out from my favorite place, take a shower, put on a face mask, eat in bed while watching trashy TV and SLEEP without any interruptions. It will be glorious and I will be so happy to come back to my family well rested.

3. Personalized jewelry

I’ve been obsessed with Made by Mary for years. She’s my favorite personalized jewelry, but you can of course find something to suit your taste and budget on etsy easily. After I had our last baby, I got the Nova disk necklace with each of my babies names on them. Next I want to get a bar necklace with my wedding date on it. There are so many different ways to celebrate and wear your babes close to your heart.

4. Handmade art

I have been known to cross stitch custom family portraits for friends and family. Etsy is full of different art to celebrate your family. There are peg people families, cross stitch families, custom family illustrations (I’ve been wanting one of these for years!), or custom silhouettes of your children! So many options to celebrate being a mother and having some beautiful art for your home.

5. Photo session

Of course, there is always a photo session (shameless plug!). Whether it’s just mom and her children or the whole family, having beautiful images to celebrate your motherhood is always a win. My focus in my sessions is to make mom feel beautiful and to show the love and connection she has with each of her children. I would love to capture what motherhood looks like for you! You can purchase a gift card from me or spouses, if you want extra bonus points, you can book a session with me. Schedule it, schedule a hair and makeup appointment for her (I’ve got recommendations if you need them!) and surprise her mother’s day with all the info, all she has to do is work with me to figure out clothing.

I hope these give you some ideas of what to ask for and maybe even  something you can just send the people in your life who might want to celebrate and spoil you a bit for Mother’s Day.
