For Mother’s Day, I’d been thinking for a while how I wanted to give back to moms and help them feel special. I almost waited too long, but I finally got myself together to do a giveaway on instagram for a motherhood event the Saturday before Mother’s Day. I was able to giveaway 8 micro Motherhood Sessions that morning and it was so much fun to capture so many mama’s lovin’ on their babes. Here’s what we ended up with and what these mama’s had to say!

Cynda: Maddie was so great with my little ones. They think she is the nicest. I loved being able to get some mommy and me pics to treasure. Maddie is awesome 

Lucy: What a fun session! Madison was very professional and made it a blast for me and my kids. You could tell she knew exactly what she was doing and the pictures proved it!

Kira: Maddie was so easy and fun to work with. She was able to get amazing pictures of me and my daughters in a way that made everything look and feel natural. My 5 and 2 year olds think she is so fun too which makes it easy to get great photos. Thank you so much Maddie for the #mtpmotherhoodproject photos. I am so happy to have some “proof of mom” pictures!

Whytnee: Madison made our session fun. We acted silly and played games to get my little ones to smile. I love the genuine smiles and pictures she captured by the way she ran the session. Thank you for capturing these moments!

Marti: My son and I had the best time during our session with Maddie. She was so fun and inviting to work with. She interacted with my son, playing games to get him to genuinely smile, which I greatly appreciated! Maddie is also flexible, pivoting to capture authentic photos in the moment. We were blessed to work with her, and will treasure these photos for years to come!

Jenea: I have never had a professional photography session, so going in I was a little nervous about the process. But Madison Thomson Photography made it highly enjoyable and comfortable. Very communicative, wonderful with children and very sweet  I highly recommend!

Melissa: I’ve worked with Madison a couple times now, and she never ceases to amaze me everytime! She did a Fresh 48 session for us, and we will forever cherish those images and video. She made me feel so comfortable, especially considering I had just given birth less than 24 hours before. And she was so at ease with my son! She even made my husband (who is pretty camera shy) into a model that day! I also did a mommy/son shoot with her, and once again, I felt totally comfortable and at ease! I also love the images and editing done by her! She has a great eye, and I adore her style! I can’t wait to work with her more in the future!

I am so grateful I got to capture every single one of these mamas and their babes. I saw a quote (probably on instagram) that said something like “I take these pictures for me now, but soon it will be for them.” That is truer than true. I always search for the pictures of me with my mama. I love looking at what she looked like when she was caring for me when I was little and how much my face looks like hers as I grew up. Get in the picture mama! You deserve to be documented and your children deserve to have tangible memories of you!
