Last month, I went on my first solo weekend away in almost 4 years! With having my last two babies so close together and nursing them, I haven’t been able to get away for anything more than a day (and staying local). One of my childhood friends said she was going be in San Diego with her husband for a conference, a bunch of us childhood friends decided to head down for a weekend of fun. I’ve known these girls since first grade and 6th grade, which is just insane to me! We don’t keep in touch all the time, but regularly enough and when we get together, it’s just like old times. The same silliness, the same laughter, the same deep talks, they are the same girls to their core and I am so grateful to have a set of amazing women who know me so completely.
I made my friend Ashley, who was there with her husband at the conference, do a very mini couples shoot with me. It was fun to flex my couples posing and do some more fun shots than I usually do when I’m taking mom and dad aside at the end of a family session.
At the end I passed my camera off to Zack and gave him a few pointers with the camera and what I wanted him to capture and gave my girls a few of my favorite family prompts. We were dying laughing at how ridiculous we were and reminiscing about all of the photo shoots we would do in middle school. Did anyone else do that with their friends? Or were we just crazy? We’d get all made up, usually go through Kim’s closet since she had tonnnnnsss of clothes and then go and pose in the backyard in front of plants or in trees. There was a whole series done in black in white film while Becca was taking a photography class that were absolutely amazing and hilarious.
I love these girls and am so incredibly grateful they’re in my life.
LOVE THIS.
